About Jaime
Hello! My name is Jaime, I am originally from Aotearoa New Zealand with Polynesian and NZ European heritage. I moved to Australia 4 years ago and have been loving it here ever since!
I’ve been working in ‘books’ since 2015, from managing a small beachside bookstore to trade book publishing in 2020. I’m now in academic publishing and absolutely love where my career has taken me. My number one hobby is still probably reading and writing after rediscovering my love for it in my late teens.
I honestly used to hate English (who would’ve thought) and after having a life-changing English teacher in Year 11, alongside an amazing tutor - I decided to pursue a career in it with no regrets!

I'm a University of Auckland graduate in English Literature and Creative Writing.
I have experience tutoring students in essay writing, literary analysis, and creative composition from primary through senior secondary levels.
I focus on building the skills needed to comprehensively analyze texts & structure arguments with precision.
I do remember how daunting essay writing and analysis is, especially under exam pressure, and I tailor each session to where the student is, not a generic curriculum.
Parents/caregivers and student can expect clear communication on progress and specific, practical feedback after every session.
