About Nate
I am a recent graduate having spent three years studying physics with an extra astrophysics module on the side. Having struggled with maths since the start of secondary school, I understand what is required to improve the knowledge of the subject in order to feel confident enough to achieve more than what the student believes is possible for them. I have come to recognise that creating a relaxed 1-1 environment outside of the school workspace is often all a student needs to make significant leaps in their understanding of a specific subject.
Although they were never my strongest subjects at school, maths and physics soon became my overall favourites. This is because the more you begin to understand them, the more exciting and captivating they become. This being the reason I chose to study physics at university when choosing my options in year 12, despite still not having 100% confidence in myself. However, my A-level physics teacher helped to improve this confidence through a series of 1-1 sessions that boosted my overall ability in both subjects. This is something I wish to replicate with other people, as I realise that with most students, the main thing stopping them from reaching a great level of understanding in these subjects, is their own self-confidence.

My tutoring lessons will take place either online or in person within the framework of an hour long session. In these sessions, I will endeavour to provide support and assistance on individual topics that the student chooses prior to the lesson. Before the session I will provide the means to help improve the students knowledge on the subject through the use of exam based questions that we will work through together during the session as well as providing examples that I have worked through / come across in my own studies. The work and lesson plan I bring to the session being based off information I am given before the session regarding the desired topics that the student wishes to improve upon.
My time at university has provided me with opportunities to teach small concepts to other university students and lecturers, and I have used skills gained from a 'Methods of Instruction' course undertaken during my time as an Air Cadet to assist me in the ways I teach these concepts.
My lessons will be available to anyone currently at GCSE and A-level who wishes to improve their knowledge in areas within physics and/or mathematics.

Nate worked at our company whilst he attended the University of Nottingham and I can say, with all honesty, he is the best temporary worker we have ever had and it was our loss when his course finished. He was instrumental in overhauling over invoicing system. Along with being punctual, polite and a pleasure to work with, Nate would work with minimum supervision and the standard of his work was exceptional. I can see no reason why this would not translate into tutoring.
