About Aaron
Aaron Haettenschwiller is a dedicated and accomplished oboist based in New York City. With a Master’s degree in Classical Oboe Performance from the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Robert Botti, Aaron has established himself as a versatile musician with a passion for both performance and teaching.
Throughout his career, Aaron has performed at prestigious venues such as the Washington National Cathedral and The National Gallery, collaborating with renowned conductors including Marin Alsop and Lopez Gomez. His orchestral work includes performances with the National Orchestral Institute and the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, performing principal on challenging repertoire such as Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
He has also participated in masterclasses with some of the world’s leading oboists, including John Ferillo, Elaine Douvas, and Ryan Roberts.
Aaron’s commitment to the next generation of musicians is evident through his teaching. He works as a private oboe instructor, offering personalized lessons to students of all levels, and has served as a mentor at the National Seminario at Ravinia. His approach to teaching emphasizes both technical proficiency and expressive musicality, tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Perfect! Aaron has been a wonderful oboe tutor for my daughter, who is a complete beginner. He patiently explained the basics of the oboe and clearly showed her how to assemble the instrument step by step. His calm and encouraging approach made her feel comfortable. We really appreciate his professionalism and the positive start he has given her on the oboe.
