About Jayati
Hi! I’m Jayati, an experienced educator with a Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where I specialized in Language and Literacy.
I have over four years of teaching experience working with students in Grades 4–8, with a particular focus on English Language Arts, reading, writing, and language development. I’ve taught in both classroom and small-group settings and have experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs.
My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners. I create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves.
Whether your child needs help strengthening foundational literacy skills, preparing for an exam, improving their writing, or simply gaining confidence in English, I’ll tailor our lessons to their individual goals and learning style.

I use a student-centered and individualized approach to tutoring. I first identify each student's strengths, areas for growth, and learning goals, and then adapt lessons accordingly. My teaching combines explicit instruction, guided practice, discussion, and hands-on activities to help students build both skills and confidence. I use differentiated instruction, regular formative assessment, and data-informed strategies to track progress and adjust instruction. For language and literacy, I place particular emphasis on reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, critical thinking, and developing independent learning strategies.
