About Raquel Rocha
Throughout all of my experiences teaching, tutoring, or peer editing, I’ve encountered many different types of students. But not one time have I ever encountered one who did not possess a great idea or a great capacity for learning.
I always tell my students that learning is a two way process - you adapt your mind to the information and I will adapt my style to your unique life and way of learning. I love to include examples that have to do with my student’s lives and I will always be open to feedback without shame or judgement. I want learning to feel dynamic and fun, and most of all, I want it to feel like it’s for YOU!

As a Comparative Literature major, I’ve accumulated a comprehensive range of English skills which we can use together to meet your reading and writing goals! Here are some areas where I might be helpful to you:
-SAT AND ACT TESTING-
After self-studying, I received a score of 790 out of 800 on my SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Score, putting me in the 99th percentile of all test takers.
I received a 35 out of 36 on my ACT English score and a 36 out of 36 on my ACT Reding score. I also self-studied for my ACT.
Together, we can make a study plan and point out some areas for further improvement for your ACT or SAT goals!
- ACADEMIC WRITING -
I am well-equipped to help students in high school and undergraduate programs with their academic writing goals. I previously worked at a high school writing center where I was selected to help students improve their essays, creative writing pieces, and research.
