About Dirk

Hello! I’m a university-certified translator from Germany, now living in Southeast Asia, passionate about sharing German and English with learners worldwide. My multilingual skills (English, French, Spanish, German) ensure smooth communication—even if you’re just starting out. I love connecting cultures and making language learning feel safe and accessible. If you speak French or Spanish, I can help bridge the gap and support your progress. Let’s explore languages together and make your learning journey enjoyable and effective!

About the lesson

We talk about topics you are interested in, I correct you according to your wishes (at the end of the lesson/in between/not at all). Grammar and systematic vocabulary elaboration can be integrated (spontaneously or systematically).
According to your needs we can focus on certain areas within the language acquisition framework: pronunciation, syntax, grammar, etc.
--------

I’ve been taking lessons with Dirk for a while, and he has really helped me improve my fluency and become more aware of the expressions I use. His classes are flexible, engaging, and always adapted to my needs. I would definitely recommend Dirk to anyone who values dynamic lessons and appreciates receiving immediate, constructive feedback on their active language use.

Dirk has a professional yet friendly approach to teaching. He is very attentive and takes notes of the mistakes. He lets you speak first and then explains the errors clearly.
Last but not least, he puts real effort into the lessons and assigns useful homework focused on the topics that need improvement.
Satisfied student, Matěj Lipták, Czechia

I have experience communicating with Dirk as a conversational partner-teacher in English and also as a teacher of German. I feel comfortable when we communicate, and I think this is the main thing when a person learns to speak a foreign language.
English is not the first language for either of us, and I see a passion of an explorer in Dirk when we try to understand the subtleties of the language.
When he teaches me German, I see a desire to explain his native language to a foreigner in an easy and understandable way.
So, that is why I think Dirk is a great teacher to learn a foreign language from.
