About Ritesh
About me: - Grade 12 student with the TDSB - Currently maintaining a ~95% average with STEM course load - 2+ years of volunteer tutoring experience for many Grade 2-10 students - Strong background in advanced and competitive mathematics - 2+ years volunteering at Taekwondo (as a black belt) and work with youth programs - Patient, clear explanations focused on understanding concepts My teaching philosophy is to always get the students to understand topics from first principles, and get them to "teach themselves" by leading them to answers through asking questions (inquiry-based learning). This always leads to better results on tests because students don't have to rely on their memory to solve problems.

-- Grade 6-10 tutoring in Mathematics and Computer Science -- During lessons, I: 1. Clear up any questions or confusion the student might have with current class work 2. Go through some practice problems to determine if the student is ready to move on 3. Introduce the following topic based on their relevant textbook/curriculum, show how to solve a sample problem, then give them a few problems to work on, having them explain each of their steps to me as they solve I am very passionate about teaching mathematics. My background is mostly in mathematics and CS, so I've had a wide range of experiences and have been exposed to various topics. Subjects: -- Mathematics -- including algebra, geometry, functions, trigonometry, and calculus preparation (Grades 4-10) -- Computer Science -- Intro programming, Python basics Can also help with Grade 6-10 science/physics if needed Details: - $25/hour - First session free to ensure it's a good fit - Available evenings and weekends
