About Amelia
I am an experienced tutor with a grade 8 in GCSE English Literature. I'm currently studying English Literature at A-Level and predicted an A*.
I have a year of experience teaching a wide range of abilities and ages in English. Outside of the professional realm, I often help my younger sister with her homework for English, and have recently run a Book Club at my school. We read the book Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, and discussed the messages and ideas being communicated by the author.
Most recently, I've been named Head of Literacy and Communications at my 6th Form, placing me in charge of all extracurriculars to do with English.
English is a subject I'm deeply passionate about, and I would love the opportunity to share this through tutoring.

My lessons are targeted at Year 10 and 11 students who study any of the following in their literature course: Romeo and Juliet, An Inspector Calls, or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
My typical lesson is an hour, though it can be lengthened for any student who wants to benefit from more time.
I cover revision techniques, themes, quality of written communication in essays, and provide constructive feedback on exam answers.
A typical lesson with me would be spent first looking at the story as a whole and exploring the messages and themes, before doing close extract analysis and exploring character's in-depth. I'd help the student plan essays they would write in their own time, and give them feedback on all the essays they write for me. My feedback balances highlighting the positives of their written work, and the areas requiring improvement.
