About Samna
Hi! I’m Samna, a Computer Engineering graduate who loves teaching and helping students truly understand what they’re learning. I’ve taught students aged 13–19 in Maths, Physics, and Computer Science, both online and in-person. I come from an area where there weren’t many good tutoring options, so I know how frustrating it can be to struggle without the right guidance. That experience made me passionate about becoming the kind of teacher I always wished I had — patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping students do their best. I’ll admit — I tend to overexplain things sometimes (occupational hazard of being a teacher!), but I’m working on it and getting better at knowing when to stop before I start sounding like a YouTube tutorial. When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me playing games or spending time outdoors. I believe learning should feel as engaging and rewarding as playing a good game — challenging at times, but always fun when you start winning!

My approach to tutoring depends on each student’s individual needs and goals. If I’m preparing a student for exams, I focus heavily on past paper practice — helping them understand how to answer according to the marking scheme, manage their time effectively, and write clear, efficient answers. Together, we identify their strong and weak areas and create a strategic revision plan that makes the most of their time and energy. For students who are with me throughout the academic year, I follow a structured, chapter-by-chapter approach. Each topic ends with topical, exam-style questions to reinforce understanding and build confidence. I also provide a detailed monthly report that summarises what was covered in each class, the total hours completed, and the student’s progress. This report is updated daily so parents can easily track their child’s learning journey. I like to keep my lessons interactive and student-centred — encouraging questions, discussions, and problem-solving rather than rote memorisation. I also try to create a comfortable, encouraging environment so students feel confident sharing their difficulties or asking for clarification. My goal is always to make sessions productive enough that students don’t need to do extra studying right afterwards. Typically, my lessons are 60 to 90 minutes long, depending on the student’s level and attention span. I have several years of experience tutoring students aged 13 to 19 in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, both in-person and online. I’ve taught students following different curricula, including O/A Levels Cambridge and Edexcel
