About Amanda
Hello! I'm Amanda. I've been a high school teacher for 15 years, and a professional wedding and portrait photographer for 19 years. I also have a daughter and a son who are in college and 10th grade respectively. I currently teach AP US Gov. and Politics, and have experience teaching World History from Feudalism to the modern era, as well as US history. In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my dogs, riding my bike, and keeping up with my kids and husband.

I've been a teacher for 15 years, and I'd love to help bring your social studies subjects to life for you! I do a lot to get to know my students and help them feel at ease, so that learning can come naturally. I love sparking curiosity so you can go from learning because someone said you should to learning because you want to know. I consider myself a lifelong learner, and I love having people along on the learning journey. History is so fascinating, and helps us make sense of so much of our world today. I would love the chance to learn alongside you! I specialize in helping older secondary students, but I'm not at all opposed to helping younger students, too. 7th-12th grade, please.

Amanda was wonderful tutoring our child! Our child has a chronic illness and needed some accommodations and much flexibility. Amanda went above and beyond to provide what was needed, not just in terms of academic support and tutoring, but flexibility and organization to keep all assignments on track. She was also able to anticipate and address upcoming items before they became challenges. Amanda always maintained the utmost professionalism providing earnest and effective communication.
Amanda is very helpful especially with social studies. She is always very encouraging and keeps me on task, but still has fun. She made an effort to get to know what kind of person I am. Amanda is great and I would definitely recommend.
