About Fred

I am a Physics researcher and materials science specialist with over five years of experience working in advanced scientific and laboratory environments. I have contributed to multiple interdisciplinary projects in microphotonics, thermoelectrics, and advanced materials science, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experimental work. My work has received international recognition from Google, CERN, the European Union, SPIE, and TÜBİTAK, reflecting both the scientific quality of my research and my commitment to excellence in STEM. Alongside my research, I am passionate about teaching and mentoring students. I take a structured, patient, and results-focused approach, helping students improve not only their grades, but also their confidence and understanding of scientific concepts. I adapt my teaching to the individual — whether a student is building foundations or aiming for top results. I pride myself on being professional, reliable, and well-prepared for every lesson. I provide clear explanations, structured learning plans, and honest feedback, ensuring consistent progress. My goal is to create a supportive, focused learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and motivated to succeed.

My Tutoring Approach and Teaching Methodology I aim to make complex scientific concepts clear, engaging, and applicable. My teaching approach combines conceptual understanding, problem-solving practice, and hands-on examples, tailored to each student’s needs. I emphasise not just memorisation, but developing intuition and analytical thinking, so students gain confidence in tackling even the most challenging physics and mathematics problems. Techniques and Methodology: • Interactive explanations: I break down topics step-by-step, often using diagrams, analogies, and real-world examples. • Problem-solving focus: Lessons involve working through past exam questions, assignments, and tailored exercises to strengthen understanding. • Practical application: For advanced students, I integrate computational tools (MATLAB, Python) and simple experiments to demonstrate concepts in action. • Adaptive teaching: I assess each student’s strengths and gaps, adjusting lessons to their pace and learning style. • Exam preparation: Focus on exam strategies, time management, and tackling tricky questions efficiently. Lesson Structure: • Typical lessons last 60–90 minutes, but I can adjust based on the student’s focus and schedule. • Each session combines theory, problem-solving, and discussion, with time for questions and review. Qualifications and Experience: • Physics and Materials Science Researcher with multiple international awards from Google, CERN, and the European Union. • Experienced in advanced laboratory work, computational modelling (MATLAB, Python, COMSOL), and mentoring younger students in STEM projects. • Hands-on experience in GCSE and A-Level-level physics and maths topics, from core theory to practical applications. Who the Lessons Are For: • Students preparing for GCSE and A-Level Physics or Mathematics. • Ages 15–19, or anyone at a similar level seeking to improve understanding and exam performance. • Students who want structured guidance, confidence in problem-solving, and insights from real-world scientific research.
