About Jen
I’m Jen, I’ve always had an interest in languages, I love looking at patterns within words and making associations of how they fit into the English language.
I’ve always loved learning and for the last 6 years I’ve been working as a teachers assistant, specialising in German and Maths across KS3 & 4. I’ve worked with a many SEND students with a wide range of abilities, both as in class support and 1-1. I have also taught my own German intervention classes in KS4 to strengthen and extend their knowledge and abilities.
This inspired me to get my degree, of which I’m currently in the last year. I’m hoping to move onto teacher training and spread my love of learning German to others!

I like to use a range of techniques, not just the traditional language learning ideas. I believe that language learning should be fun and engaging, something my own teacher instilled in me!
My personal style focuses on the basic grammar, once there is a good grasp on this then other grammatical ideas soon fall into place. I also like to group vocabulary into topics and with progression, apply them to a wider range of scenarios.
As speaking practice is not as effectively utilised in the classroom, I will predominately focus on this, which ties in with listening skills. There will also be dedicated time to practice reading and writing skills, but this depends on what skills you want to practice the most.
