About Kirstin
I am an ambassador for teaching the UN Sustainable Development goals and believe that Geography not only helps us make sense of the world but helps us imagine a better world. It inspires curiosity and a knowledge of places, diverse environments, helps us make connections and consider different points of view.
I work with learners aged 8 to 18 and can also support you with study skills to help you realise your potential in any subject.
I work with students 1:1, or you can work with me in small groups to share the cost. I'm also running summer catch up sessions if you feel you are behind after school closures. I can also help you prepare for university, or transitioning to an A level course.
My aims for all my students are:
- To encourage the development of the independent learner
- To release the true potential of all learners
- In inspire all students to be the best version of themselves
- To encourage students to be lifelong learners
- To provide students with the ability to cope with a rapidly changing world
- To encourage individuals to work independently, in teams and lead teams and decide when is right for each.
I am an experienced online tutor and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I also currently work part-time as an A Level and GCSE Geography teacher at an independent school in Hampshire. I can tutor online or in person, whichever works well for you.
I use a custom made online platform to track student progress; both academic and soft skills. I can prepare you to excel for exams in any exam board and take your love of Geography beyond that, so you can use the unique skills you develop in this diverse subject in the 21st century workplace.
I can also help you prepare for your NEA at A Level introducing you to GIS, Statistics and methods in human and physical Geography.
I believe that making best use of existing online learning programmes, games, videos, quizzes and AI software in no way replaces the need for tutors and mentors, but demands the very best, most creative, empathetic, engaging, adaptive human beings. Something technology alone can never do.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with Kirstin for just over a year and in that time I have been impressed by Kirstin’s professional approach to her work.
