About Manav
I'm a friendly, motivated second-year Dental student at Barts, with an excellent academic record and a passion for helping students achieve their best. My path so far in dentistry—working toward my future specialisation in orthodontics—has taught me discipline, precision, and the value of clear communication. All this shapes the way I teach, which is patient, structured, and always focused on helping students really understand what they are learning. Outside of university, I love to keep a regular exercise routine, read, and try out new baking recipes. I find these activities balance me and make me creative and enthusiastic about every tutoring session. Whether teaching 11+, or GCSE students, my approach is centred on creating a supportive learning environment; one in which each student feels motivated, capable, and proud of his or her progress. I specialise in helping 11+ and GCSE students build confidence, master core concepts, and improve their exam performance through clear explanations and structured, engaging lessons. Every lesson is personalised. I start by assessing a student's strengths, gaps, and learning style, then devise a focused plan to accelerate their improvement. Whether your child is preparing for 11+ Maths, English, Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning, or needs support with GCSE Maths or Science, I break topics down simply and make sure they truly understand—not just memorise. My lessons usually include: Diagnostic assessment To understand precisely where your child needs support and to set realistic, achievable targets. Clear, step-by-step explanations I use examples, diagrams, and simple methods to make it easy for the students to understand concepts that are difficult. Exam techniques & strategies We focus on timing, question structure, model answers, and how to avoid common mistakes. Practice questions every lesson Students apply what they have learned right away to build confidence and accuracy. Optional homework & weekly feedback Parents are given short progress updates so that they may always know how their child is improving. Interlesson support Students can send me quick questions during the week if they get stuck. My method is calm, friendly, and patient. I provide a comfortable environment in which any question is allowed and learning happens at a comfortable pace. Many of my students make rapid progress within weeks due to the structured, focused manner of our work.
