About Abu Bakkar
Hi, I’m Abu Bakkar, a passionate and dedicated engineering student and offer holder for Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London and general engineering at Cambridge.
I have consistently achieved top academic results, including 5 Grade 9s at GCSE, 3 A* predictions in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, and a 7.0 in the ESAT. I have also competed at a high level in mathematics and physics competitions, achieving Gold in the British Physics Olympiad (Senior) and reaching the final round of the Ritangle competition.
More importantly, I understand how to succeed in these subjects. My tutoring focuses on building strong fundamentals, clear problem-solving strategies, and exam technique, helping students gain confidence and achieve top grades. I adapt to the students level and teaching preferences to help them in the best way possible.

I adapt every lesson to the individual needs of the student, whether they are looking to build confidence in GCSE Maths (and Physics) or push for top grades.
I begin by assessing the student’s current level and identifying any weaker topics, which we prioritise first. My teaching is centred around deep understanding; I explain concepts clearly and intuitively so students fully understand why methods work, rather than memorising steps. I do not move on until the student is confident with the topic.
Once understanding is secure, we focus on intensive exam-style practice. Students complete questions of increasing difficulty, ensuring they can apply their knowledge accurately and under pressure. This is where grades are truly improved.
To reinforce learning, I set regular homework, revisit earlier topics, and use past papers under timed conditions to develop strong exam technique and long-term retention.
With consistent attendance, completion of homework, and genuine effort, I am highly confident that any GCSE student I tutor can achieve at least a Grade 7, with most being capable of reaching Grades 8–9.

Abu Bakkar is an incredible tutor. He is able to break down complex topics and tackle misconceptions head on. He has extensive knowledge of GCSE and A level Mathematics - I was directed on how to answer challenging questions as opposed to being told how to do it.
