My years of experience in teaching students that have been performing below their expectations in class or resitting exams means that all my lessons are tailored to the individuals and any problems they are experiencing
After asking what the student believes they need assistance with, my approach is systemic. Starting with fundamental concepts, I use both exam style questions and ones that I have made to diagnose any misconceptions.
Once I have identified any misconceptions, I re-teach the content and provide plenty of opportunities for the student to practise their newly learnt skill as well as ask any questions. I then periodically quiz the students on anything I have re-taught them to make sure it sticks.
This process of diagnosis, teaching, practice and consolidation is proven to be highly effective and has contributed to my students' current 100% success rate in their resits.
