About Jasper
I am a recent GCSE student with strong results in Maths and Sciences, and I want to use my experience to help other students succeed. I have always enjoyed explaining difficult concepts to classmates and younger students and helping them understand topics they previously struggled with.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple steps and seeing students become more confident in their abilities, which I find very rewarding. Having recently gone through the GCSE system myself, I understand the challenges students face and the importance of clear, structured teaching.
My goal is to help students improve their understanding, confidence, and exam performance in Maths and Science.

I teach by breaking Maths and Science topics into simple, logical steps so students understand the reasoning behind methods rather than memorising them. I believe understanding is more effective in exams, as it allows students to apply knowledge to unfamiliar questions, whereas memorisation is limited to specific question types. I focus on building confidence, exam technique, and the ability to apply knowledge effectively in GCSE exams.
My teaching style is adaptive. I first identify gaps in understanding, then rebuild the topic from the foundation in a way that suits the student’s learning style. I use worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions to help students become independent and confident problem solvers.
I have experience informally tutoring and supporting classmates and younger students in Maths and Science. This has helped me develop the ability to explain complex topics in a clear and structured way, adapting my explanations depending on how the student thinks. I have also gained experience identifying common misunderstandings and correcting them through step-by-step guidance.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, allowing time to explain concepts clearly, practise questions, and review mistakes without overwhelming the student. Longer sessions can be arranged during exam periods if needed.
I am a recent GCSE student with strong mock results (Grade 9 in Physics and Biology, Grade 8 in Maths and Chemistry, Grade 9 in Chinese, and Grade 8 in Statistics), so I understand current exam boards, question styles, and common pitfalls.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE students (ages 11–16), including both foundation and higher-tier students who want to improve grades, strengthen understanding, and build exam confidence in Maths and Science.
