About Laura
I have tutored Maths and Science for over 3 years. My students have ranged from ages 10 to 16 and include both 11+ and GCSE students. Recently, one of my students has been admitted to Withington Girls School- one of the highest achieving schools in the country. I have also seen a student through 3 years of high school, in which she has moved up 2 sets. A student approached me 6 months before his GCSE Maths exam, predicted to fail, and passed. I have 3 A*s in my A level Maths, Further Maths and Physics, and next year I am going on to study for a Masters degree in Theoretical Physics.

For me, the most important aspect of teaching is sparking an interest in the subject- I find that students are much more motivated when they understand how a subject can be applied in impressive ways. I also believe it is vital to understand concepts, rather than just remembering them. Therefore, often I begin teaching a topic by ensuring the student understands the foundation, before moving on to more complicated aspects.
