About Matthew
Hi! My name is Matthew, I am 20 years old and I am currently studying electronic engineering at the University of Exeter. I have just completed my 2nd year and have achieved a 1st in both years. At A-Level I studied maths and further maths, having achieved an A* in both. I have taught multiple students and have 5 years experience teaching to younger people. I want to help students studying maths at GCSE to learn in an encouraging, stress-free environment to help crush their exams and enjoy maths along the way!

Hi, my name is Matthew and I teach maths at GCSE! Having taught multiple students at GCSE, my tutoring aims to give solid, step-by-step instructions on how to answer every type of question you could be faced with at GCSE.
I love maths and I believe it is an invaluable subject that can lead to many job opportunities. I studied maths and further maths at A-Level where I scored an A* in both. I have just completed my 2nd year at the University of Exeter studying electronic engineering, where I have achieved a 1st in both years. I have taught multiple students at GCSE and have been coaching tennis for 5 years, so I have a lot of experience teaching to younger people.
My tutoring lessons are typically 1 hour long, and it is centred around practice questions, as I believe this is the best way to improve in maths and prepare for an exam. Lessons will take place over Zoom and will be recorded so that the student can rewatch the lesson at any point to refresh their memory of the skills taught. These recordings will be uploaded to a Google drive, along with lesson resources, questions and a lesson report spreadsheet which I will update every lesson.
I know how difficult it is at maths GCSE when there are many different types of questions thrown at you and it’s tricky to know how to solve them. So I aim to teach a topic and show step-by-step how to solve a particular question, then help a student to solidify the content taught through repetition of practice questions, as this has been the best way a student can improve through my experience.
I can teach a series of lessons or alternatively a one-off lessons if you would like help on a particular subject. Thank you for reading and I can assure you won’t be disappointed through my services. :)

Matthew tutored my daughter for GCSE maths. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Matthew is very patient and excellent at explaining and breaking things down into stages, so important in Maths!
