About May
I am an English - Mandarin Chinese interpreter from Taiwan. I teach both traditional and simplified Chinese characters. Since 2001, I started teaching Mandarin in Norfolk Adult Education Centre. I have a student who received 9 in Chinese GCSE in 2019.

My approach is based on students' needs to select the materials and approach. However, Pinyin and tones are essential, there is no escape for beginners. I do not introduce boring grammar from the beginning. I use simple and easy-to-remember methods to help students express in Mandarin. For Chinese characters, I use some drawing to explain symbolic characters.

If you are wanting to learn Mandarin Chinese and are looking for a teacher then look no further. Your search is over. May is a first class teacher and your progress is assured. She is very patient and will tailor her teaching to suit your needs.
People learn another language for a variety of reasons and in differing circumstances. May takes these into consideration and adapts her teaching content and pace to suit. Learning a language does not comes naturally to me and I find May very patient and understanding. Compared to other teachers I have tried, although all very professional, May is the one I would highly recommend.
