About George
I've been teaching Russian for over 4 years on a private basis. I've mainly worked with the book 'Colloquial Russian' by Svetlana Le Fleming and Susan Kay, as this was the book I learned Russian myself with and find it to provide a rigorous and challenging introduction to the language. In addition to my Russian teaching, I've been teaching English since 2012, and have developed many various techniques and strategies to help you get the most out of your lessons.

I started learning Russian when I was 15. I've always loved the language, and want to help you see its beauty too! I got A* at A-Level before moving to Moscow for a year, where I taught English at BKC-International House. It was there that I really got a flavour for the real, colloquial form of Russian - the way the language is actually spoken.
I am constantly undergoing my own training in Russian with a professional teacher myself, and have a near-native level of fluency. My aim is to make lessons fun and interactive - not simply studying for an exam or for work, but to really bring the language alive. You'll gain a thorough understanding of the way Russian works, including its complex grammar, as well as getting regular speaking and listening practise. The lessons will be tailor-made to fit your needs.
Why choose me as your teacher? I'm friendly and relaxed, as well as making sure to challenge you to keep growing your language skills. I've gone on the rare journey of learning Russian as a non-native from scratch, and consider myself to be in a unique position to help you do the same. I teach A-Level Russian, GCSE Russian as well as Russian for general use.
