About Katie
I am passionate about helping students reach their academic goals. I have tutored students for the past 8 years. My experience includes: University: Chemistry, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Biochemistry. I have provided tutoring for students in NUIG, NUIM, UCD, DIT, DCU, TCD, AIT, CIT, GMIT & UK students. I have also provided GAMSAT tutoring. Higher & Ordinary in all subjects listed below; Leaving Cert: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics. I have also provided HPAT tutoring. Junior Cert: Science (now common level), Mathematics, Geography. As someone who has spent the past 22 years in academia, I understand that oftentimes a clear, simple explanation, combined with repetition via practice problems can mean the difference between average grades and exceptional grades. I can also understand how difficult it can be to speak up and ask questions in front of a class of peers, and that is why I am here to provide non-judgmental, supportive, private tutoring.

Sessions typically last 60 minutes or 120 minutes, but longer lessons can also be facilitated. The student should identify the topic(s) or chapter(s) they are struggling with prior to the session and communicate this to me. It is helpful to find out about the student's past grades and their desired grades prior to beginning, so that we are both clear on the aim of our sessions. This information allows me to prepare memory aids, flashcards, and practice problems, which are key to knowledge retention & success!

Perfect! Katie focuses on complete understanding of topics which is vital in order to do well in chemistry, she has helped me so much these past few months and I’m very thankful she teaches me. The classes are very enjoyable and and fly by each time !

Katie is an excellent tutor and can explain a broad range of subjects with a very good focus on what appears in the particular exams that the grinds are for. Would highly recommend.
Katie is the only reason I graduated college. Not only is she an excellent teacher - she summarised my exams in order to maximise my grades for the least amount of work.
She is a brilliant tutor as she makes chemistry very easy to understand. she also uses alot of ways to display notes eg PowerPoint, mindmaps and even videos.
