About OLAYINKA
I'm Olayinka, and I got into teaching almost by accident — helping a friend revise for her mock exams. Watching her go from dreading Chemistry to actually enjoying problem-solving is what hooked me, and it's the moment I still chase in every lesson I teach.
What keeps me in this is the shift in mindset more than the grade itself — the point where a student stops seeing Chemistry as something to survive and starts seeing it as something they can actually think their way through.
Outside tutoring, I'm a dog lover and into landscaping, two hobbies that taught me the same lesson I bring into teaching: patience beats shortcuts every time. My approach is built around targeted strategy, not just content review. I use real past papers and official exam mark-schemes to pinpoint exactly where marks are being lost — usually not where students expect — then focus lessons on the topics that decide grades most: Moles, Energetics, Equilibrium, and Organic Chemistry. With 4 years of tutoring experience and 120+ students taught, I've taken learners from D/E grades to A/A* using this method consistently.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes, though this can be adjusted based on the student's pace and how close they are to exams. My students are IGCSE, A-Level, and WAEC Chemistry students across all major exam boards — Edexcel, Cambridge/CIE, AQA, and OCR — whether they're starting from scratch or fine-tuning for a resit.
