About Samuela
I am an engineer and a patient maths tutor who enjoys helping children build confidence in maths. I have two years of experience volunteering with Action Tutoring, supporting primary school pupils with their maths learning. I enjoy breaking down concepts into clear and simple steps so that children feel less overwhelmed and more confident in their abilities. My aim is to create a calm and encouraging environment where pupils feel comfortable asking questions and developing strong foundations in maths.

I specialise in helping Year 5 pupils improve their confidence in maths. My lessons focus on important KS2 topics such as fractions, multiplication, division and problem solving. With two years of experience volunteering with Action Tutoring, I use a patient and supportive approach to help pupils understand concepts step by step. Each lesson includes clear explanations, guided practice and exercises designed to strengthen skills and prepare pupils for Year 6 and SATs.

Samuela has been volunteering as a Year 5 maths tutor both online and in person with Action Tutoring since April 2024. She has supported disadvantaged pupils in their learning and helped them to make progress towards achieving the expected standard in their SATs tests at the end of primary school.
I'm a Programme Coordinator at Action Tutoring. Samuela is a fantastic maths tutor at one of our partner schools. She is reliable, dedicated and provides fantastic, tailored support to Year 5 pupils every week, all of whom have shown great progress and really enjoy her sessions. A great tutor!
