I'm a friendly, professional tutor, who enjoys helping others succeed in their educational goals. I graduated with a BA in Music from the University of Cambridge in 2020, but I have a broad range of academic interests, and I hope that I can share my love of learning with my students.

I am tutor for 11+ exam preparation in maths, English, and verbal/non-verbal reasoning. The majority of my tutoring experience - online and in person - has been with one of the UK's largest tuition companies, which provides English and Maths tuition for children from KS1 to KS3. This role has equipped me with the curriculum knowledge and teaching experience to help students succeed in the 11+. My academic background is strong: I achieved a first class degree from the University of Cambridge in 2020, A*A*A in my A levels (Chemistry, Religious Studies, Music), and 9 A*s and 1 A in my GCSEs.
A typical 11+ lesson is one hour long. My tutoring style relies heavily upon a two-way dialogue with my students, so that I can gauge their understanding of different concepts, and respond accordingly. I take a example-based approach, and encourage my students to approach unfamiliar problems by using their existing knowledge to reach reasonable answers. I believe this is especially useful for building confidence in students preparing for exams. Working closely with the exam board’s specifications, I start a typical lesson by going over the theory/knowledge for the topic, including key terms and equations. I ensure that my students learn a methodical approach to answering different types of questions, including a reliable way of writing their working. The rest of the lesson focusses on worked examples and exam-style questions; I always encourage my students to explain their working aloud, as this is a great way to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the topic.
