About Toshiki
My name is Toshiki, and I have been teaching Japanese for 4 years.
I lived in Canada for 3 years and I like exchanging cultures with foreigners.
I am a professional Japanese tutor who values clear explanations, structured lessons, and a supportive learning environment.
I understand that learning a new language can feel challenging, so I focus on helping students build confidence step by step. Each lesson is carefully prepared and adapted to the student’s level and goals, with an emphasis on clarity, consistency, and practical use of Japanese.
I take professionalism seriously and believe in punctuality, patience, and respectful communication. My aim is to help students feel comfortable using Japanese while making steady and visible progress.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to improve your skills, I will support your learning with a calm, reliable, and professional approach.

What you'll get
・Free lesson for one time
・Free lesson materials
・A steady route towards Japanese speaker
・Confidence to speak Japanese in public
I use a student-centred approach, combining:
・Clear explanations of grammar in simple English
・Step-by-step speaking practice to build confidence
・Realistic examples from everyday Japanese
・Repetition and review to help information stick
I prioritise understanding and communication, not perfection. Mistakes are a natural and important part of learning, and I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable speaking from the beginning.
・Lessons are adapted depending on the student:
・More conversation for speaking practice
・More structure for grammar or JLPT preparation
My experience and background
I have experience teaching Japanese to learners from different backgrounds and levels. I understand the common difficulties learners face and know how to explain Japanese in a clear, approachable way.
As a tutor, I am patient, encouraging, and attentive to each student’s progress. I focus on building both skill and confidence, so students can see real improvement over time.
Who my lessons are for
My lessons are suitable for:
・Beginners with no prior Japanese knowledge
・Elementary to intermediate learners who want to improve speaking and understanding
・Teenagers and adults
・Learners studying Japanese for travel, daily conversation, personal interest, or exams

I really enjoyed my lessons with Toshiki-san! He is patient, friendly, and very attentive to the student’s level. The lessons felt practical and useful, and I could see real improvement over time. Toshi’s calm approach made learning Japanese enjoyable and stress-free. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a clear and supportive Japanese tutor. Thanks a lot! Ganbatte kudasai!
Learning Japanese with Toshi has been a very positive experience. His teaching style is calm, patient, and well structured, which made it much easier for me to stay motivated. I especially appreciated how he encouraged me to speak and use Japanese naturally instead of just memorizing rules. After a few lessons, I already felt more confident communicating in Japanese! Thanks, Toshi!
