About Balraj Singh
I’m an IT Project Manager with a strong interest in maths and helping students build confidence in the subject. I achieved an A grade in GCSE Maths and understand that many students can find maths challenging or overwhelming at times.
I specialise in Foundation GCSE Maths and focus on creating a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment where students can learn at their own pace. My aim is to make maths feel more understandable and less intimidating by breaking topics down into clear step-by-step methods.
Through my professional background, I’ve developed strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, which I bring into my tutoring sessions. I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping students improve both their understanding and confidence in maths.

My lessons are structured to be calm, supportive, and easy to follow, with a focus on building confidence as well as improving maths skills.
Each session begins with a short recap and warm-up questions to reinforce previous topics and identify any gaps in understanding. I then introduce one core topic at a time using clear step-by-step explanations and worked examples before guiding students through practice questions together.
Lessons are tailored to the student’s pace, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and revisit areas they may find difficult. I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind methods rather than just memorising steps, which helps build long-term confidence and exam readiness.
At the end of each lesson, we review what has been covered and highlight any areas to practise further. My aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and able to make steady progress in Foundation GCSE Maths.
