About Shreya

I have several years of experience working with and mentoring students through leadership and teaching roles. As a staff member at NYLT, I have helped mentor both participants and fellow staff members, guiding them through challenges, answering questions, and helping create a positive learning environment. These experiences have taught me how to communicate with different types of learners, be patient, and explain things in ways that are easy to understand.

I have also tutored students in both English and Math through my local library, giving me experience working one-on-one with students and adapting my approach to their individual needs. I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to figure out what works best for each person rather than simply giving them the answer.

I’m reliable, prepared, and genuinely interested in helping my students become more confident and independent learners.

I’m an Honors student at UConn with a 1530 SAT score, including a 790 in Math and 740 in Reading and Writing. I have a strong understanding of algebra and geometry, but more importantly, I know how frustrating it can be when a topic just doesn’t click.

I’ll break problems down step-by-step, explain why different methods work, and adjust how I teach depending on what makes the most sense for you.
