About Toria
I'm a graduate from Mississippi State University with a B.A in English Language, Letters, & Literature. I've always had a passion for literature, and since I was a teen, I knew I wanted a career helping writers. When I was fifteen years old, I was reading a book one night; and, up until that point, the book seemed like an exciting read, and I was eager to see where the story went. Unfortunately, the rest of the book was filled with inconstant plot lines and terrible grammar. I was so infuriated that someone would allow a book with such potential to be published the way that it was that I immediately researched everything I could about book publishing. After a lot of research, I realized that I wanted to become a book editor to help future authors write out their stories to their fullest potential. Ever since then, I have been tailoring my life to help writers reach their full writing potential (or at the very least, help alleviate some of the stress of literature classes and writing). I am very passionate about literature and editing and have worked with a variety of writers across different skill levels, so if you're feeling apprehensive, please don't hesitate to reach out.

In my sessions, I like to prioritize a collaborative effort that adapts to the needs of the writer; and above all else, my goal is to help writers improve in their personal writing process and achieve their desired outcomes while also maintaining their own unique “voice.” I have extensive experience and have collaborated on numerous and varied writing projects ranging from emails to short stories to articles for scholarly publications. I have also worked extensively on personal statements and applications for various disciplines. I am prepared to work with writers during any stage of their writing process (from brainstorming to development and revision) so if you are struggling with an essay or other writing assignments (or just want a second eye), please don’t hesitate to make an appointment.
