About Trudy

I'm a freelance creative with a first class degree in English Literature & English Language and Linguistics from Glasgow University. I tutor students from 7yo, through high school, foundation courses, undergraduate degrees to Viva prep. Neurodiverse-friendly. Tailored to my student

About the lesson

For under 16s, I base my lessons on age appropriate novels, occasionally poetry and plays, which we either read together or are set as homework given my student's time constraints. I'm very flexible and try to work with the routines and learning suited to my students and so I model lessons on their current needs and frequently ask for evaluation. For older students, we work on the specifics of what they need and with the texts on their curriculums or satellite texts. I help plan essays and can proof/mark them.

Perfect! What a delight Trudy was. She instantly put us all at ease. She’s so professional, kind, and full of knowledge. She’s an expert from an academic perspective but has a brilliant understanding and empathy for neurodivergent learners. Thank you so much.

Trudy's response
The whole family are a delight and a pleasure to work with. I’ve really enjoyed having them as part of my weekly routine. Sadie, Christine’s wee girl, is so smart and friendly. Would highly recommend if they come to you asking for help

Extremely crisp presentation style and a real flair for distilling complex ideas down to their key elements. I have seen Trudy give presentations in a professional context and have every confidence this would translate seamlessly to her tutoring work.

Trudy is an amazing teacher, who has helped me to reach a new depth of reading and majorly improve my use of the English language. Thanks to her insightful feedback many of my essays and my undergrad dissertation reached new quality levels. She is also a kind and supportive personality and will give you fresh confidence for whatever challenges you are heading towards. Trudy has enabled me to reach my full potential during my English studies, and if you aim to accelerate in English Literature and/or Language yourself, you should get in touch with her.

Trudy helped me to edit my dissertation in English Literature at the University of Glasgow. She comes up with thoughtful, constructive and honest criticism which really helped me to improve my work and see it from different angles. She is friendly and sincere, and I am sure that she would make an excellent teacher or workshop leader.
