About Mandy
Hi there!
My name is Mandy, and I’m currently in my fourth year of Physiotherapy at the University of Otago, completing my final year of clinical placement. Over the past four years, I’ve developed a strong foundation in Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology through both academic study and hands-on clinical experience.
Biology has always been my strongest subject - I was awarded a scholarship for it in high school. I also excelled in Chemistry, Classics, and Calculus, and I’m confident tutoring these subjects as well. That said, Biology is where I feel most competent and passionate.
I’m easygoing, approachable, and committed to helping you succeed. I tailor my explanations to suit your learning style and provide clear, structured notes to make complex concepts easier to understand.

Through my years at university studying complex subjects such as Physiology and Pathology, I have developed highly effective learning and study strategies. My lessons are structured, interactive, and tailored to your individual needs. I begin by identifying exactly what you don’t understand and where your gaps are, so we can focus on what will make the biggest difference. I then break complex ideas down into clear, logical steps to make them easier to understand and connect together. Throughout the session, I use active recall techniques such as questioning, summarizing, and teaching concepts back to help move the information into your long-term memory. We also practice applying the content through structured questions so you feel confident and prepared for your tests. My goal is to equip you with effective study strategies so you can revise independently and perform at your best.
