About Oliver
The bit of the job I most enjoyed was working one to one with students, to enable them to reach their full academic potential, hence my move to online tutoring. I am self-employed meaning that I am extremely flexible about scheduling lessons and providing feedback on your draft work. You won't be squashed in around other work and I can work with you to meet tight deadlines. I have a wide range of teaching experience and believe I offer superb value for money, as many current and recent students will testify. My teaching was nominated for a Times Higher Teaching Award in 2017. While at University of Leicester I was awarded an Academic Superstar by the Student Union for my dedication to excellence, innovation and outstanding policy-informed teaching. I bring that same dedication and passion to online tutoring. I can help you with the following subjects: International Relations International Relations Theory UK Politics UK Foreign Policy, especially British European policy Public Policy Failure/Success Political Communication Essay Writing Qualitative Methods Discourse Analysis I have been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2002 (membership number 12130). I was educated at University of Oxford (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) and University of Nottingham (MA and PhD in Politics/International Relations). I was a university lecturer for 20 years, working at various UK institutions. I taught politics, foreign/security policy, international relations, essay skills, qualitative research methods and discourse analysis. I published many books and articles across my research interests, including high selling textbooks on International Relations Theory and UK Politics. I was also a media pundit, did policy advice and helped write political speeches. I was external examiner at a number of UK institutions, helping improve degree programmes as well as supervising individual postgraduate students to doctoral level. I held research fellowships at University of Berkeley, California (2010) and University of Cambridge (2019-2020). In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog, most sports and home renovation.

Perfect! My experience with Dr Daddow was fantastic. Not only did he help me stay within scope of my essays but he also gave a lot of useful gramatical and proof reading feedback. He broke down ideas so they became more digestible and helped me achieve the best possible version of my essays.
Perfect! Oliver is extremely patient and very knowledgeable. He is always well prepared for the lessons and sends a link a week in advance to pre read the topic of discussion. He has been very helpful and I’d highly recommend him.

Perfect! Oliver has been an excellent tutor! He is very knowledgeable in his field and takes the time to listen to your problems giving constructive feedback whilst keeping the lessons lively. His positive teaching style is very encouraging and has helped me move along with my dissertation in strides.
