About John
I am a bread-and-butter, nuts-and-bolts kind of person. I explain topics in a down-to-earth fashion, and I use the words I need to use- whether they're plain or fancy- to explain them. The topics I explain best are High School- and College-Level Mathematics and Physics, specifically Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Newtonian Mechanics, Wave Physics and Electromagnetic Physics.

My lessons are designed to help students understand what they've already learned, though teaching them a new subject is an option when necessary. For that reason, lessons typically revolve around getting a student to summarize a topic such that they have a good understanding of it and to practice applying it to the point of being comfortable with it.
As a tutor, I'm a bread-and-butter kind of person. I don't try to show off my knowledge or encourage my student to do the same (unless my student needs to do so), but rather encourage general understanding that can be applied readily. I also work primarily with High School and College-Aged participants.
