About Micaela
From a young age, I've had a passion for teaching, learning & writing. I can recall spending rainy weekend afternoons playing school & formulating lessons for my 2 younger sisters in our attic hideaway.
After finishing my undergrad in journalism in 2018, I decided to take some time to travel and see what the world could offer me. What sparked my love for teaching was my time as an au pair of four young children in Northern Ireland. In Belfast, I not only worked for my host family but volunteered as a classroom assistant at a local primary school. After my time in Ireland, I've since returned to Canada, making my aspirations a reality. I'm currently teaching & coaching at St. Joseph's Catholic Secondary School as a French Immersion teacher.in oIn 2022, I received my teaching certification on the East Coast. I plan on living and teaching abroad in the next few years and receiving my Master's in Teaching. Being a teacher has been one of my greatest learning experiences thus far.

When it comes to English, it's all about working through the kinks. Writing can be tough - it's a process and an art that needs to constantly be fine-tuned. At the heart of my lessons, you will focus on that creative process. My lessons all integrate a balanced literacy approach, incorporating all 4 strands (writing, reading, speaking & listening).
