About John
For the past decade, I have dedicated myself to teaching guitar, helping students of all ages and skill levels develop their musical abilities and passion for the instrument.
Furthermore, my professional career in the music industry adds a unique dimension to my teaching approach. I have been fortunate enough to be signed to two major record labels, including Interscope Records, which has given me invaluable insights into the music business. Currently, I am signed to Concord Publishing as a songwriter, allowing me to stay current with industry trends and practices.

My Guitar Teaching Approach
Fundamentals First:
For beginners, I focus on building a strong foundation. This includes proper hand positioning, basic chords, and simple strumming patterns. We start with easy songs to build confidence and maintain enthusiasm.
Personalized Learning Paths:
Each student's journey is unique. I tailor lessons to individual goals, whether it's mastering rock classics or exploring jazz improvisation.
Theory in Practice:
I introduce music theory gradually, always connecting it to practical playing. For advanced students, we delve deeper into complex harmonic concepts and their application in various genres.
Technique Development:
Beginners learn essential techniques like hammer-ons and pull-offs. Advanced students refine these skills and explore advanced techniques such as tapping, sweep picking, and hybrid picking.
Ear Training and Improvisation:
From day one, I incorporate ear training exercises. As students progress, we focus more on improvisation, from basic blues to advanced modal concepts.
