About Shawn
I have over ten years experience as a college professor of English, writing, developmental English/writing, literature, & education in addition to years of teaching experience at the high school level where I taught Senior English, Senior Honors English, & Journalism. I have also tutored both college and high school level students for years. I have been a financial advisor for several years, having built my own business from the ground up. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola University Chicago, a Master’s Degree in English from NIU, and extensive graduate studies toward a Master’s in Teaching from Rockford University. I have vast training & experience in the financial industry, holding a CFP designation as well. I bring a varied and rich background of experiences to my effective teaching approach & style.

Details
Rates per hour vary depending on education level, necessary preparation, and more. Lessons will cost slightly more if I travel to your home than if we’re conducting them online. College level tutoring sessions typically cost slightly more than high school sessions because they are more detailed in nature and require more extensive knowledge. Test prep classes cost more than English/writing sessions due to their more detailed and inclusive nature.
