About Rory
I have a great passion for math and teaching it. I often find that trouble with math stems from poor understandings of the basics or a lack of understanding how/why formulas work. I excelled in my math classes in Junior and Senior Cycle as I spent my time focusing on why the formulas work as opposed to simply memorizing them. Math is not a subject that can be excelled in by memorization only.

I focus on letting my students understand what they are doing and why. It is not enough to memorise what formula to use when, but to know why these formulas work and be able to adapt them to suit any problem. I promote good problem solving skills and a thorough understanding of the fundamentals, as these two things will allow you to excel in mathematics.

Rory is an absolutely incredible teacher, and has a great ability to explain very complicated concepts in a way that makes them easy to understand. One reason that Rory excels at teaching is that he can very quickly figure out where you're at with your understanding of a topic and meet you at that level. Rory is incredibly patient and enthusiastic about maths and teaching. I say this sincerely, there is no one I would trust more with maths tutoring. Not only does he really know his stuff, he knows how to teach it too.
