About Tom
I am a first-year BSc Economics student at the University of Bristol with a genuine passion for helping others learn. Outside of academics, I enjoy football, golf, and surfing, which keep me active and motivated. I want to teach because I find it incredibly rewarding to see students progress and grow in confidence. I especially enjoy taking complex topics and breaking them down into simple, understandable ideas that make learning feel achievable. Teaching allows me to combine my academic strengths with my desire to support and encourage students, helping them reach their full potential.

I teach using a clear, structured approach, starting with the fundamentals on a digital whiteboard so students build confidence before progressing to more challenging exam-style questions. My lessons typically last up to 1.5 hours and are tailored to each student’s pace and goals. I am a first-year BSc Economics student at the University of Bristol, achieving A* in A-Level Maths, A in A-Level Economics, and A in A-Level Physics. During sixth form, I was an Economics and Maths Ambassador, where I helped struggling students understand key concepts and improve their confidence in the subject. I tutor GCSE and A-Level Maths, as well as A-Level Economics, and I support students of all abilities who want to strengthen their understanding, boost their grades, and approach exams with confidence.
