About Mary
Hello, my name is Mary and I’m a patient and friendly Math tutor with a special interest in statistics. I enjoy helping students understand Math in a clear, simple way, especially topics that often feel confusing or intimidating.
I decided to go into tutoring because I’ve seen how much easier Math becomes when it’s explained properly and at the right pace. In my lessons, I focus on building confidence, breaking down concepts step by step, and using practical examples so students don’t just memorize formulas but actually understand them.
I aim to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where questions are always welcome.

My approach to teaching maths is student-focused problem-based learning which focuses on teaching students to understand and appreciate the usefulness of maths concepts in their day to day lives, thus bolstering their interest in the subject and consequently, their willingness and ability to learn effectively.
Typical lesson lengths will be structured between 30 minutes and an hour to maximise interest levels, as well as attention and retention rates, but I am willing to work with the client's schedule and individual needs.
I have been tutoring maths informally from high school all the way through college, as it has always been one of my strong suits and a passion of mine to teach others. Everybody of all ages and educational backgrounds up to first year college are welcome to request my services.
