About Carson
I hold an MMath in Mathematics and Statistics (University of St Andrews, First Class Honours), 4 A*s at A-level and am currently in the final year of a PhD in Statistics at King’s College London. I also bring professional experience as a Software Engineer at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, which allows me to provide students with insight into the practical, real-world applications of mathematics. In addition, I have over three years’ experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at King’s College London, supporting undergraduate and master’s students in mathematics and statistics through tutorials and practical sessions. This experience has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and provide structured support to help students achieve their academic goals.

I take a student-centred approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the individual’s goals, abilities, and learning style. My teaching methodology combines clear explanations, worked examples, and exam-style practice questions. I emphasise both conceptual understanding and problem-solving techniques, which helps students develop a strong mathematical foundation as well as exam success. Lessons are typically 1 hour long and include a review of key concepts, guided problem-solving, and targeted practice tailored to the areas that need the most improvement.
