About James
I have a first-class honours degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, where I took finals papers focussing on both economics and politics. I have spent eight weeks teaching classes in China, as well as coaching at my local cricket club (being awarded a Jack Petchey Achievement Award).

I take a holistic teaching approach, first assessing the extent to which the student understands the topic in order to focus on key areas of development. I then try to fit the topic within the broader curriculum, so that the student can understand where the topic sits within the course and its broader use. I then give tuition on the more abstract concepts within a given topic, before applying these to questions the student will face in exams. I try to provide a supportive atmosphere where there are no stupid questions, and where any areas of misunderstanding can be cleared up.
