About Olivia
I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2018 with a First-Class English Literature degree (BAHons). I specialised in Wordsworth's poetry and war literature.
Since then, I've spent the past five years working for Mercedes-Benz across their PR/Marketing teams. I've been tutoring English alongside my university studies and then alongside my full time job, coming up for almost eight years now.
I have recently relocated to Canada with my partner, as we wanted to get out of London and explore a more outdoors lifestyle.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking and reformer pilates.

I have a proven track record of improving my students' grades and helping them achieve their goals. I work in line with their exam board, focusing my lessons around their specification and paper to ensure they are fully prepared for their GCSEs and A Levels. We work through past papers together, as they see how I would go about answering a question before they have a go themselves. I set homework based around mock exam questions to ensure they are receive as much exam support as possible before they come to sit their exams.
My lessons typically include short YouTube videos, PowerPoint decks and quizzes with the focus maintaining on exam preparation as ultimately this is how the student will be tested.
I am patient, personable and a good listener and I try to keep lessons fun and engaging. I am flexible in my approach and will listen to the want and need of each student, tailoring the lessons in line with their preferred learning methods.

Perfect! Olivia provided me with English tutoring over the last few months as I needed to pass my English GCSE, which I passed with a 75% mark. Olivia was a great tutor with extensive knowledge of poetry. She also demonstrated great ability to develop my confidence whilst the exam approached and was really committed in me succeeding as she prepared and marked my weekly homework.

I would recommend Olivia without hesitation. Olivia first supported my son for his GCSE English 5 years ago and helped his development to get a pass. She now works with my daughter towards English GCSE and we can see clear progress and massive boost in confidence.
