About Paulomi
I have strong experience and knowledge in the STEM field as I am currently on a placement year working in the Civil Engineering industry. I have completed 3 years at the University of Warwick with a first-class in Civil Engineering and having won awards for attainment. Next year I will return to university to complete my masters.
Teaching and mentoring have always been passions of mine as I have worked in a primary school outreach program in the past to encourage more children to consider entering the STEM field. Additionally, whilst I was an A-Level student, I mentored GCSE students struggling with Mathematics. During my time at university, I also taught Indian Classical dance in weekly classes so I am familiar with teaching concepts I am familiar with to beginners.
Most notably, I have experience tutoring numerous children in Maths and Science up to GCSE standard over the last year both online and in person. I am looking to help even more students aim to surpass their target grades and show them that they are capable of succeeding in STEM! I am DBS checked.
I know that each child is different and therefore each child is different and requires a different teaching approach with some being audio learners, some visual, and some kinesthetic. Being adaptable is crucial in ensuring that the student feels comfortable to ask questions when they do not understand something and so that you can explain something in many different ways if they are struggling to understand. Furthermore, my teaching method mostly involves the child learning through examples so that they can understand as they practice and improve their skills with that specific type of question. The key with mathematics and science is that once an idea has been covered, the best way to improve is to keep practicing similar questions until you confidently can answer a similar question in the real exam.
