About Alexis

來布里斯班前我在香港有兩年做補習老師的經驗。我教的包括英文，普通話及廣東話（說話及寫作），這些全都是我拿手並且說得非常流利的語言。*香港中學文憑-英文+英語文學畢業生; IELTS 8.5*
A little about myself:
I was born in Myanmar, a beautiful Southeast Asian country before I spent 14 years living in Hong Kong and learned Cantonese and Mandarin among native speakers. I studied in local schools in Hong Kong so I’m also very fluent in written Chinese. My students have mostly been children from ages 1-15, with diversely different backgrounds. Besides teaching through books, I love taking my students on mini outings to really push them to use their knowledge naturally in daily life. I have lots of experience in writing, organizing and participating in English dramas and musicals throughout secondary school so I definitely understand how important it is to have fun in order to learn efficiently.
As for Chinese: I learned Chinese in a few months as a kid, I find that the way I learned it was highly efficient. I will teach you in the same way so that you not only learn fast, but learn effectively and have a good fundamental understanding. This will allow you to decode more advanced materials well on your own in the future.
香港長大的我是個中緬混血兒，在學校要說廣東話，跟朋友會說廣東話和英語，在家就要說普通話英語和緬語，從小就被訓練要同時掌握和通用幾個語言。雖然我能說一口流利的普通話和粵語，英語一直都是我最常用而且最喜歡學的語言。
在香港讀中學的六年裡，每一年我都有編寫，製作還有參與至少一部英語話劇/歌劇。因為不是國際學校，製作組裡的學生大部分英語都並不是太流利。作為編劇和導演，確保所有演出者完全理解劇本和能完美的讀劇本裡的每一個字這個責任每次都會落在我身上。除了坐下來跟他們慢慢解釋和練習，很多時候我都會帶學妹們出去玩，逼著她們說英語，把英語變成一個習慣，變成她們能自信的用的語言。通用不同語言去教學生是我的特長，希望我能用我的經驗幫助你在澳洲輕鬆的學習！
