Have you ever wondered how fashion brands know what will be trending months before it appears in stores? This beginner-friendly class is designed for fashion students, aspiring designers, content creators, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in understanding the future of fashion.
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of fashion trend forecasting and how trends emerge, evolve, and influence consumer behavior. We will explore the difference between trends and fads, understand the key drivers of fashion trends, and learn how to identify emerging trends through observation, research, social media, street style, cultural shifts, technology, and consumer insights.
Students will also learn how to gather inspiration, conduct trend research, create mood boards, analyze colors, silhouettes, fabrics, and lifestyle movements, and transform their findings into a simple trend forecast. By the end of the class, participants will understand the forecasting process used by fashion professionals and will be able to confidently spot and interpret upcoming fashion trends.
No prior experience is required. Students only need a notebook, pen, and access to Pinterest, Instagram, or the internet for research activities. This class focuses on creativity, observation, and analytical thinking, making it perfect for beginners who want to develop a deeper understanding of the fashion industry and gain valuable skills for future fashion, styling, branding, or content creation careers.
