About Ülker

I graduated from Akdeniz University, Department of English Language and Literature. I am currently doing my master's degree in Philosophy. I have completed my pedagogical formation training and for 3 years I have been teaching private English lessons to students of all age groups, both in language courses and in person or online. I believe language is a combination of music and math. One of the most common mistakes in teaching English is to focus on the process and miss the rhythm. My goal is not to try to teach English to those who realize that learning English is essential. To ensure that students are aware of the undeniable effect of language on individuals and society and to see how their mentality develops with a second language and creates a completely different character from mimics and gestures. I want to be able to convey this to the other person as I am fascinated by language, literature and philosophy. English is also learned, and exams are given, but what is done with forced feelings is called postmodern torture. In my opinion, the reason why English has become a fearful dream for students is that student-specific teaching methods are not tried. It is to make the school the biggest obstacle in front of a person's education by trying to put students in a certain pattern, as in the clip of Pink Floyd- We Don't Need No Education. I am not only interested in the student's English lesson, but also with other lessons and personal development. The reason I wanted to be a teacher was not just to teach English, but to know that I could change the individual and society. There are many things I want to convey, from language to literature and philosophy.

The road maps I followed according to different age and level groups during the course are as follows: Preschool: 2-6 years old is known as the critical stage in terms of both language and personality development. It is the most productive period of language education since it is the age range in which the child is most open to learning. I do the lessons in this age group by supporting the natural language development of the child with a variety of visual, auditory and play materials. School Period: During this period, I support the English lessons at school by determining the shortcomings of the students and trying to eliminate these deficiencies together. During this period, students see English as a theoretical course and move away from the language and therefore fail. Rather than transferring theoretical knowledge in which the student remains passive, I include daily communication and purposeful activities in which he actively participates. Preparation for University and Exams (AYT, YDS, YÖKDİL): To prepare for these exams, the student must have at least B1 level English proficiency. If the student is not yet at this level, I first create a foundation and then prepare a grammar and vocabulary lesson plan for the exam. In the last stage, I give the exam strategies that will facilitate the exam and increase the success and make the student practice accordingly. With fast and effective word learning methods that the student can actively learn and use 450-900 words in a month, I aim to create the most important building block of a language and an exam and combine it with grammar and aim to learn an effective language. Although a fast learning based on grammar and vocabulary is aimed, it is not possible to learn a language by completely ignoring one of the reading, listening, writing and speaking skills. If the student knows the word when he reads it and cannot know it when he hears it, it is not considered to know that word. Even if it passes the exam, the permanence of that word or grammar is not possible. Adult English: Considered the most difficult group in language teaching. Because the person is conditioned that English is very difficult, he cannot do it, and he is closed to learn and only wants to learn English. Another difficulty is the correction of incorrectly learned information. While it is difficult to teach someone something new, it is much more difficult to correct what someone is wrong. First of all, English is not possible without overcoming these prejudices, resulting in constantly hitting a pole. Unlike teaching English to children, students in this group are considered "false beginners" and a curriculum is applied to remind them of what they have forgotten and to make up their deficiencies. The importance of the mother tongue in learning English is felt much more in adults. Because he learns English language based on his native language, so a good Turkish means good English. English Speaking: I teach English speaking lessons to people who are at least A2 level and have difficulty practicing. For this reason, if there is no infrastructure, I am watching a program that we develop by creating this and talk is predominant, but the lessons will progress more slowly as we complete the deficiencies. In this process, lessons based on interaction are planned with various methods that will make the individual active.
