I am an expert tutor and educator with an interest in low achievers and working with learners with behavioural or motivational difficulties, Bachelor of Education degree and a Masters in Curriculum Pedagogy and Assessment from the University of London- Institute of Education (IOE). With over eighteen years experience the classroom and tutoring in the UK and overseas.
My Approach to Tutoring
My biggest priority as a tutor is to make learning rewarding. Studying is stressful. The point of tuition is to ease that feeling by building confidence, trust and optimism. My take is this: it is entirely possible to be relaxed, enjoy sessions and make maximum progress all at the same time. If you want to know about my level of expertise, I’ve included a very dull list of my achievements on my profile. As someone who marks the exams your son/daughter is sitting, I am an expert in my field. But my most useful attribute, as a tutor is being able to make a connection with students, and build the work around that. This is probably down to an overlong list of nerdy obsessions, which follows in "Fun Facts About Me".
Fun Facts About Me
I love reading (obviously), people, film, comedy, theatre, food (will have a rustic restaurant when I’m 67), podcasts, art, and photography. Too many things to mention. Cricket and football use to be my particular obsession - playing and watching, until Arsenal became Arsene. Lastly, music, I love live music, still sing in the showers.
