About Megan
I am a dedicated Computer Programming tutor with over 6 years of teaching experience, helping students at GCSE, A-Level, and university level build strong programming knowledge and achieve their academic goals. Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with learners from diverse backgrounds, adapting my approach to suit different learning styles and levels of experience.
My expertise includes Python, Java, C++, C, object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, databases, SQL, software engineering, and problem-solving techniques. I believe programming is best learned through practical application, so I focus on hands-on coding, logical thinking, and real-world examples that make complex topics easier to understand.
I am passionate about creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities. Every lesson is designed to make programming clear, practical, and enjoyable. I adapt my teaching to your current ability, whether you are preparing for GCSE, A-Level, or university computer science courses. We begin by identifying your strengths and the areas that need improvement, then create a structured learning plan that matches your goals.
Lessons combine theory with hands-on coding exercises so you can immediately apply new concepts. Topics include Python, Java, C++, object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, databases, web development, debugging, and software design. I explain difficult ideas using simple examples before gradually introducing more advanced challenges.
During each session, you are encouraged to ask questions, solve real programming problems, and develop logical thinking skills. I also provide exam-focused guidance, coursework support, coding practice, and feedback to help you improve steadily.
My teaching style is patient, interactive, and supportive. Rather than memorising code, you will learn how to understand programming principles and write efficient, reliable programmes independently. By the end of our lessons, you will have greater confidence, stronger problem-solving abilities, and the skills needed to succeed in examinations, university assignments, technical interviews, or personal programming projects.
