About Freya
I have over 3 years of experience teaching computer programming to students at different levels, from high school to university. My main focus is helping learners build confidence in coding by starting with the basics and gradually moving toward more complex topics. I specialize in languages like Python, Java, C++, and JavaScript. My lessons are always interactive and filled with coding demonstrations. I break down concepts such as loops, arrays, and functions into simple steps that students can easily follow. Problem-solving and algorithmic thinking are at the core of my teaching style. I believe that learning programming should be hands-on, so I give students coding challenges and small projects to practice. Debugging is another important part of my sessions, as I show learners how to identify errors and fix them logically. Many of my students enjoy working through past exam questions with me, as this helps them prepare effectively for assessments. My approach to teaching programming begins with building strong foundations. I focus on key concepts like variables, loops, functions, and conditionals, ensuring students understand how code works step by step. Lessons are hands-on, with plenty of live coding and interactive exercises. I believe coding is best learned by doing, so students write code from the start. I guide learners through solving small problems that gradually grow in complexity. Debugging is treated as an essential skill, teaching students how to think critically and fix errors confidently. For exam preparation, I include structured practice with past papers and coding challenges. For project-focused learners, I encourage building applications such as calculators, websites, or small games. Each session is interactive, encouraging questions and exploration. Over time, students develop not just knowledge of syntax, but real problem-solving ability. My aim is to make programming approachable, engaging, and rewarding for every learner.
