About Tristan
Hi, I'm Tristan, a first-year Economics student with a passion for mathematics. I love helping others understand and enjoy maths, making it less intimidating and more approachable. Teaching online gives me the opportunity to connect with students internationally and share my enthusiasm for maths in a way that is clear and effective. I know that building confidence is just as important as mastering the material, so I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and tackle challenges head-on. I offer maths tutoring for all levels up to A-Levels, helping students build a strong foundation and excel in their exams. My tutoring is based on both my strong academic background and teaching experience. I have achieved top marks in my exams, including 198/200 for IGCSE Maths, 159/160 for IGCSE Additional Maths, 287/300 for A-Level Maths and 284/300 for A-Level Further Maths (earning me Top In Malaysia for Further Maths). With this experience, I fully understand the syllabus inside out and know what it takes to succeed. I adapt my teaching to fit each student's learning style and needs. My 60 minute lessons follow a structured yet flexible approach: --> Building a Strong Foundation: ensuring students understand key concepts before moving forward. --> Practice – using topic-based questions to reinforce learning before tackling full past papers. --> Exam Strategies – teaching problem-solving techniques and common mistakes to avoid. Since I have taught and gone through IGCSE and A-Level Maths before, I know the typical challenges students face and how to help them overcome them. My goal is not just to improve exam results but also to help students develop deeper understanding and confidence in maths. I have mainly taught the Cambridge and Edexcel syllabi, but I can also support students from other curricula. Whether you're preparing for IGCSE or A-Level Maths, I’m here to guide you through the journey with clear explanations, effective strategies, and a supportive learning environment.
